Imagina que a sociedade é um organismo e que a economia é maneira como as células trocam os elementos que precisam para se satisfazerem. Agora imagina que a ferramenta essencial às trocas, o dinheiro, não é criado num órgão mas sim individualmente e controladamente por todas as células. Tal e qual como no nosso corpo onde o ATP é o elemento auto-produzido por cada célula, essencial às suas trocas.
Agora imagina o inverso, um organismo vivo onde os centros de produção do ATP são centralizados num único sector. Como nos districtos financeiros, as células mais próximas desenvolvem-se enquanto as células com menos comunicação com a fonte central morrem lentamente.
A diferença é que o dinheiro é um conceito, ( o vocabulário à volta dele pode ser alterado) e o ATP é uma enzima.

Imagine that society is an organism and that economy is the way the cells in this organism trade and acquire elements to satisfy themselves. Now imagine that the basic trading tool (money) is not produced in a central sector (banks) but by every single cell. Like in our body where ATP is the self produced enzyme that allows the cell to perform the vast majority of trading operations.
Now try to imagine the opposite, an organism where the cells' basic trading tool is produced by a specific organ. Like in the financial districts the cells nearby would thrive while the cells with no communication with the main source would slowly die.
The main difference is that money is an concept (its surrounding vocabulary can be changed), while ATP is an enzyme.
