Minha:
Neo Emo
Body: Hi Teki Latex from France!
I speak English and studied 9 years of french, but i forgot how to
write and talk due to lack of practice.
About Nova Emoção: it's the expression we chose to define our cultural
movement. Neo-Emo (as it is also called) started in Porto about 4 or 5
years ago. Since then it has developed into a large thing, out of our
hands, and hundreds audio products, as well as it's own visual
language, have been contributing to the enrichment of contemporary
portuguese club landscape. It's made by a generation of kids who's age
is largely understood between 19 and 35 years old.
Our musical influences should be similar to yours, I believe, because
we live in the same time. From Daft Punk to Max Tundra, from Chicago
House to Italo Disco, from Studio 54 to Myspace... From booklets to
weblogs... whatever.
The graphical language is also developed by us and for us, it tends to
recover postmodern extravagance. We got tired of Swiss boredom. More
is more.
Neo-Emo is made of small statements, it's a big truck calling for cyan
tears and a guy on a sunny afternoon under a tree playing on an
exploding rainbow laptop.
We have fine arts, CDRs, Posters, Manifest, Conferences all at a very
fair price.
The reason why you must have seen your name in Neo Emo related text
it's because, as the Nu Ravers from London, we feel a strong positive
connection in some key points to the things you guys are making.
Namalee from the Namazons, (don't know if you know) also expressed her
feelings on that way. I think it's no stupidity to say It's the first
non-organized multi-national phenomenon! I confess that when I
discovered Institubes, Super Super Mag, and many other stuff at my
space I felt a bit disapointed for not being so original but also a
new kind of a sense of comunity.
I can say a lot more about Nova Emoção but it would take me so much
time... and I really need to eat something at the downstairs cafe. If
you have more specific questions, please ask.
